A man and woman in their 40s are facing multiple felony charges against three minor children. The Michigan couple were foster parents to 18 children from 2008 to 2020, and they have been arrested and charged with allegedly abusing three of them. Being charged with sex crimes is a serious matter, and both individuals would do well to seek legal counsel to fight those charges.
The man and woman – a married couple, ages 44 and 48, respectively – were recently arraigned on sexual abuse charges. The man is facing three counts of possessing child sexual abusive material, seven counts of criminal sexual conduct in the first degree, four counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct involving a minor under the age of 13 and two counts of child abuse in the second degree. He is also charged with one count of accosting a child for immoral purposes.
His wife is charged with one count of child abuse in the second degree, two counts of criminal sexual conduct and two counts of accosting children for immoral purposes. The three children in question range in age from seven to 17. The first allegation was made against the couple in 2016. Police say they expect more children to come forward with allegations.
Charges involving sex crimes are extremely serious, especially when they involve children. Michigan residents facing such charges should think about enlisting the assistance of an attorney to get advice on how best to fight those charges aggressively. It is best to have a defense team to work on a strategy from approach to execution to resolution.
