4 times famous musicians were arrested in Michigan

Michigan is known as the home state of many legendary musicians. From Mowtown and to Eminem, the Stooges and MC5, our state has a proud tradition of contributing to the American pop music scene.

At the same time, many top music stars have found themselves in trouble with the law in Michigan over the years. Here is a summary of some of the most high-profile musician arrests in Michigan, based on an article in the Detroit Free Press:

  • Trey Songz. In late December, the R&B singer was arrested in Detroit on charges that he struck a cameraman during a concert and resisted arrest following the show.
  • Jack White. The Detroit native was arrested in 2003 after police claimed he assaulted another rock singer at a local club. He eventually pleaded guilty to misdemeanor assault and battery.
  • Eminem. The hip-hop star (and another Detroit native) was arrested on suspicion of pulling out a handgun during a 2000 argument. That same year, he was charged with assault after allegedly striking a man with a pistol after the man kissed Eminem’s wife.
  • Keith Moon. The Who’s original drummer was arrested at the Holiday Inn in Flint after allegedly trashing several rooms and helping push a car into the swimming pool. According to legend, the Who were banned from all Holiday Inns because of this incident.

Few readers are as high-profile as these celebrities, but getting arrested is a very serious matter for anyone. Many arrests make headlines, but remember that getting arrested is not the same thing as getting convicted. Your defense attorney will help you take control of the situation.
